Baptist Hospital East is Louisville’s premier East End medical center, with specialized services for women’s health, cancer, heart, orthopedics, neurosurgery, emergency care, occupational health, rehabilitation and behavioral health, including psychiatric and chemical dependency care.
Located in suburban St. Matthews, nine miles east of downtown Louisville, the 407-bed acute and skilled care facility is at the center of a 52-acre, park-like campus that also includes five physician office buildings with nearly 200 doctors, a day care center and a radiation therapy center.

Educational programs and support groups are available to teach patients and family members how to live with many different types of medical problems. Chaplains are available 24 hours a day to explore spiritual issues with patients and families and help them cope with the changes a serious illness or injury can bring.
Reaching out to the community
In keeping with the hospital’s mission to enhance the health of the people and communities we serve, Baptist East offers a broad range of community education programs, including health screenings and seminars, and a physician referral service. The hospital’s Education Center, featuring a 232-seat auditorium and 12 conference rooms, is the site for many educational programs on a variety of health-related topics.
