"Baptist East has been a special place for me to work. I began working there 27 years ago as an orderly. Sometimes I joke with the current orderlies that – by myself – I was able to handle the duties of an orderly for the entire hospital. That is a true statement although the hospital has grown considerably since then. In spite of the growth, the hospital still maintains a friendly atmosphere. As a testimony to the great work environment, many of the nurses I worked with 27 years ago are still there.
