Paducah boasts a well-established cultural community, being home to the Market House Museum, Museum of the American Quilters, Yeiser Art Center, Paducah Film Society, Paducah Symphony Orchestra, Market House Theatre, Community Concert Series, and Maiden Alley Cinema.
Luther F. Carson Four Rivers Center
In 2004, Paducah became the proud new home of the Luther F. Carson Four Rivers Center, a $44 million performing arts center. The Four Rivers Center offers a variety of cultural events, such as Broadway hits, dance and a musical series.
Museum of American Quilter’s Society
The Museum of American Quilter’s Society brings in people from all over the world who share a love of quilting. Each spring, the Annual Quilt Show brings in an estimated 35,000 people, nearly doubling the population of the city of Paducah.
Paducah’s Artist Relocation Program began in 2000, and is now used as a national model for using the arts for economic development. The program is about artist ownership, giving artists an interest in our community.
The River Heritage Museum can be found in downtown Paducah’s oldest standing structure. The museum features state of the art, interactive exhibits that tell the story of the four rivers region, which encompasses the Ohio, Tennessee, Cumberland and Mississippi Rivers.
The Market House Theatre, located in the historic Market House Building, has been the centerpiece for the historic restoration of downtown Paducah. The theatre was voted one of the Top 25 community theatres in the country.
The Maiden Alley Cinema is the home of the Paducah Film Society. Newly renovated, the Maiden Alley Cinema features the best new releases of foreign and domestic films. It provides alternative choices to the mass-released first-run films at the Cinemark complex at Kentucky Oaks Mall.
